Greek School Program

The directors of the three Greek Schools of our local parishes in our area (Saint Katherine, Annunciation, and Saint Anna) are proud to present the most comprehensive program yet. Completion of all the requirements of this program and passing the examinations means that the student will have certification from the Greek Government and recognition from the University of California system and the European Union of the Student's Literacy in the Greek Language.

With that, I would like to welcome our new teacher who is sent to us by the Greek Government, Ms. Ioanna Lekkakou. Her postgraduate studies include a Master's Degree in The History of Theater for Children from the Department of Primary Education in Athens, as well as a Ph.D. in Theater Education from the University of Athens.

Classes are held on Sundays and begin at 12:00 each Sunday. Depending on how many students register and the levels they are at presently, we will decide the schedule for the rest of the day. The adult class offered begins at 2:30 and ends at 3:30. We are pleased to announce that we will also be offering a preschool/kindergarten class. The teacher will be our very own Photine Kanelos. Photine taught the adult classes here previously.

Unique to Saint Katherine Greek School is a language lab with four computers each with Rosetta Stone software. This lab is open to all students enrolled in the program, regardless of home parish.

Please download the enrolment forms for the adult and children classes. The school schedule is also available for download. Regardless of which parish you sign up, the cost is the same and you can attend classes at the other parishes. The registration fees stay at the parish where you signup. The fees coming to Saint Katherine Greek School will go to support the language lab and pay for local expenses.

These classes are also available to general public but priority will be given to parish members. So if you have a friend who is interested, feel free to bring then to the class.
