Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church invites you to a Weekend in Greece! This two day festival features the celebration of Greek culture and food. Saint Katherine invites everyone and their families as the event is open to the public. The festival runs from 11 AM to 10 PM on Saturday and noon to 7 PM on Sunday. Admission and parking is free.
The festival features live, authentic Greek dancing performed by the parishioners and their children. They also feature traditional Greek costumes and Greek music. In addition, there will be cultural displays and guided tours of the Byzantine-style church. Guests get the opportunity to view the beautiful iconography inside the church as well as the history of the Greek and the Greek Orthodox religion.
The members of the parish prepare all of the traditional Greek favorites for the visitors. All of the food is prepared by the chefs of Saint Katherine using their own special Greek recipes and natural ingredients. Guests have an unique opportunity to sample common Greek dishes as well as some that are not usually found outside of Greece. Guests cannot miss the traditional Greek pastries and deserts as well. If you run out of room before getting to desert, don't worry! All of the food and deserts are also available for guests to take home with them.
This festival is not to be missed! The home made Greek cuisine along with the cultural experience with a lively, festive atmosphere allow guests and their families to enjoy a beautiful and fun "Weekend in Greece"!
